New Solutions for Green Schools in Colorado

Join us for an in-depth review of the Colorado CHPS Criteria!

This past fall, CHPS debuted the Colorado CHPS Criteria (CO-CHPS), a new high performance assessment tool created especially for Colorado schools. CO-CHPS can help schools achieve energy efficiency and utilies savings, heightened student performance, and improved student, staff and faculty health. Join CHPS as we provide training on how to create the schools that will provide these benefits!

The training will consist of two sessions in each location, facilitated by CHPS staff and local partners. The morning session will provide an introduction to the CO-CHPS, a review of the CHPS Verified Program, and an overview of the CO-CHPS prerequisites and credits, as well as credit-by-credit analysis and tips.

More in-depth training on CO-CHPS will be provided in the afternoon. Topics will include design strategies and guidelines for CO-CHPS, funding available through the B.E.S.T. Program (Building Excellent Schools Today), and a review of the CHPS Operations Report Card (ORC) program. In addition, participants will hear from practitioners and from local school districts on how to implement high performance schools in Colorado.

CHPS is a registered provider of continuing education through the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The courses will offer AIA Learning Units in Sustainable Design (a new mandatory continuing education requirement). 3 AIA HSW/SD learning units will be provided per session to attendees who sign in with their AIA membership number at the training.

Representatives from school districts and schools attend these trainings for free. Registration discounts are available for CHPS members as well as for attendees who bring a school or district representative with them to the training. New members to CHPS are eligible to receive two (2) free attendee registrations.

Space is limited in each training session, so sign up early! Click on the date and location below that's most convenient to you.
